I hope you are doing well and are finding ways to take care of yourself. Despite Covid-19, there is still a lot to be thankful for in our day-to-day lives.
That's actually why I'm writing to you today; simply to say, "thank you".
As you know, the pandemic and this past year have been a challenging time for all of us, but especially for the vulnerable young people we serve. However, because of your support, we've been able to continue providing unconditional love and absolute respect to those that need it most.
We couldn't have done it without you.
Below, I just wanted to share some stories that represent the love and care you have provided. You make our work possible.
With love and respect,
Krista Thompson, ICD.D Chief Executive Officer, Covenant House Vancouver
The pandemic has been a significant challenge for so many of us, but for drug users and those who are doing their best to stay sober it has been particularly difficult.
Tammara stayed at the Crisis Program, and due to Covid-19 concerns, we were required to keep her isolated in her room for 14 days.
With your support, we work hard to make holidays fun for young people. Even with the ongoing health crisis, this Easter was no different.
Youth volunteers from South Vancouver Neighbourhood House decorated treat bags for Easter and our Gifts-in-Kind team used donated items to fill them with treats.
While we continue the fight to end youth homelessness, know we are so grateful to have the support of dedicated people like you, who walk alongside these vulnerable and courageous youth on their journey to overcome homelessness.
